You always do find out who your true friends are. And for
me, this year was the official year for me. Sometimes people see it coming, and
then other times they don’t. Good friends are the ones who have stuck with you
from the beginning. Also, you come to find that guy friends have way less drama
than the girls do. Yes, guys do have their bad days, however, in the end, it is
great to have them around. I wouldn't trade my guy friends for anything in the
world. I especially have a few guy best friends that I couldn't go a day
without. I have the absolute most fun with them. The laughter and jokes with
them never end, which is hilarious. They are stupid and funny at the same time,
which make them worth it. I always feel like they are my older brothers, and I am
just the little sister. It isn't a bad thing because I do know that no matter
what, those boys will have my back and I was will do the same for them. it is
so nice to know that your boys have your back like no other! During the each
day we have grown closer and closer each day and I can’t wait to see how much
closer we will be after school. True friends stick together, and I know that
when we all go away to college, my boys will be some of the people that I make
sure to stay in touch with when we all go our separate. Too good of relationships
have formed to just throw it away now. I will stick with my boys until the end,
and I am not going anywhere. I love my boys to pieces, and I wouldn't have it
any other way than to be so close with them.

Q4. My Pop Icon
People always look up to different figures in society. My
pop icon that I have always loved is Taylor Swift. Ever since her first album
came out I have been a huge fan. Her music is so different from other country
singers. She has a certain target market, and that would be teenage girls. So
many teenage girls look up to Taylor Swift. It is mostly because they feel as
if people think that they can relate to her lyrics. There is a special relation
with relationships and romance, which she writes about. They are mostly about
break ups, and songs to make people feel better. Her music is very inspiring in
this way. Whenever you feel down on yourself or going through a hard time,
Taylor Swift can always help you through it. Sometimes music is the best cure
to a hard time. Taylor Swift knows all the right words to say. I like to follow
in her footsteps because she teaches to not let anyone mess with you and to be
your own strong person. Especially with boys, don’t let them take over. Drama
with them is so overrated and it can be taken care of easily. She has so many
people and fans look up to her with all the meaningful songs she writes through
her career. Having someone be iconic
means to have a meaning to someone. And icon doesn't only have to be a famous person,
however it is something or someone who has real meaning to them. An icon gets special recognition. I don’t think
that there is ever a time when an icon does deserve that designation. All icons
have a specific reason why someone chose them to have this title. The impact
that they and got them where they are. Taylor Swift is such a unique person and
always keeps me smiling in hard times, and that’s why I love her!
Q3. English Book
I am not the biggest fan of reading. I hate that when you
are in a class, made to read something, and it is the most boring thing. Then,
you can’t even get into what you read. It doesn't help that you don’t like to
read on top of it. But, however this year in English, I read a book that I liked.
It was The Hunger Games, the first book of the series. We were doing
group projects and our group got to read this one. It was such a good book. It
helped that I saw the movie when it came out too because I knew the story line
This got me excited to read the book because the movie was amazing. And, it is
said that books are usually better than the movies. My two sisters both read the book and said it
was so good. The younger sister, who also is not the biggest fan of reading,
even liked it. Throughout the book, I was so into what I was reading. The book
always keeps your mind going. There is a lot of adventure, suspense, intensity,
and even some romance, which made the book great! There is truly no other book
like this and about this topic of the Hunger Games. It is very unique in so
many ways. Also, I am always a sucker for a good romance. I love how Katniss
and Gale have had a close relationship since they were kids. It doesn't specifically say it, but the audience can tell that they are in love. However,
then everything gets twisted around, and Peeta comes into the picture. Then, as
Katniss and Peeta go off to the Hunger Games as tributes, they start to have
feelings for each other. It is all just one big, confusing love circle. But,
all the adventures of the book is what keeps it interesting.
Q2. SUMMER 2013
I can’t wait for SUMMER 2013 to begin! Every summer is one
to remember, but I’m definitely ready for this one to be the best! I am so
ready to get exams out of the way, and start the summer adventures. The warm
weather is already here, and it kills me to be stuck in school while it is like
this outside. But, soon enough, I will be lying out by the pool, soaking up the
sun, and enjoying myself. Summer is the best times to make memories with friends,
and I can’t wait! There are so many endless things to do, especially when you don’t
have to worry about school and homework. Some of the many things I plan to do are
go to the beach, go to the zoo, play paint twister, and just be stupid with
friends. It is going to be the best times. This is a summer to make sure we
remember because it’s the summer before senior year. This is the time of our lives;
I have to make the most of it with people that mean the most. I also have
softball this summer, like every summer. This year I am a part of the Clarence
Red Devils travel team. I love the girls on my team, so it should be a good
time! Another thing that is big in the summer is country concerts. I want to go
to a lot of them this year, but I will just have to play it all around the
softball schedule. Also, my sisters and I always find crazy things to do during
the summer, so we will just have to wait and see what that turns out to be. Summer
is way too short to fit all these adventures. But, with the little time, they
are the best memories.
Q1. Yearbook
It is that time of year for yearbook season. This year is my
third yearbook because I am a junior and get one every year. It’s always an
exciting time of year because every single year it is totally different. This
year was interesting because for every day that yearbooks would be handed out
to different classes, the yearbook committee would decorate the school with
ribbon and balloons. That’s pretty interesting. I don’t think that has ever
been done. It is good to have small changes like that. It was all color
coordinated with the class that was getting their yearbooks that day. The first day I got my yearbook I looked
through it all with some people the minute I got it. It was a pretty good
yearbook. The only thing is that with the sports’ pages, they messed up a lot
of the names for players. That was a little annoying. That was the only true
bad thing about it. For the most part though, the rest of it was good though.
There were a lot of funny pictures of people in there too which topped it. The
cover of it this year was pretty different. This was different in a good way
though. They were very old fashioned with the faded cover, and it made the
yearbook look well-designed. And, then with the distribution of yearbooks comes
the yearbook signing. Yearbook signing is a pain in a way because you never
know what to write. It’s one of the hardest things to do, especially if it is
someone you are really close with, because there is SO MUCH TO WRITE. But,
yearbook signing is still fun too in a way because in a few years, it helps you
remember all the good times you had. It brings back the best memories that you
won’t ever want to forget again.

P5. Alden Softball
Choice blogs are sometimes difficult to pick, but I have another
good plan for this one! The subject is going to be about my Alden softball
team. I’ll start out by saying that I love these girls to death. It seems to be
that every sports team that I have been on this year have been close with each
other. And, my softball team is definitely one of the top ones. Team chemistry
is what helps a team succeed in the best way. If there is none, it is highly likely
that the team won’t get too far. Then, no chemistry only also leads to single
players trying to be the whole team. It just doesn't work that way. And, this
year my team has good chemistry. We get each other, and who we really are. We
know how to work through things together, and never give up. We all get along
so well, and that is hard to find on team. This team is definitely a unique and
talented group. Our goal this year is to be #1! We want it so bad, and all of
our minds have that in mind. We definitely all have the same mind set. This
team can go so far, and right now we are on a good roll. We work hard every
game until the last inning and never give up. We always pick each other up and
just get ready for the next play. This year’s group is so talented, and I can’t
wait to see what we will be like next year. We are losing one player which is
very sad, but I think we will still be so strong as a team. Playing with the
same people for a long time helps. And, this team has a lot going for them. So
we will do whatever it takes to strive for the win!
P4. My Best Friend...Nicole Fischer!
It is said that people come into your life for a reason, a
season, or a lifetime. And I want to start off with saying that this person I am
going to talk about is coming into my life for a lifetime. Nicole Fischer is my
best friend, and I have no idea what I would do without her. It all started
when we became close sophomore year in high school. We did everything together. Then towards the middle/end of last year things started going down-hill a little. It a long
story, but that is history now. Then, junior year came around and we got back
to talking to each other. Months and months went on with this, getting closer
and closer by the day. Now to this day we are back to the way we used to be! Words
can’t describe how good it is that we are so close again. There is nothing more
I missed than being close with this girl. I tell her all and everything, and I know
I can trust her with anything. We have the best laughs together like no other,
and then she is always there to cheer me up when things aren't going so well too.
She is legitimately ALWAYS there for me, and I never know how to thank her
enough. The even better part about my friendship with her is that we are like
one person together. It always happens where we have the same thoughts, wear
the same outfits, or want to do the same things. We just know each other that
well. What came between us before is crazy to think about because I could not
imagine life without her. I love this girl to death and can’t thank her enough
for being in my life. LOVE YOU TO PIECES NICOLE!
P3. Ms. Chrzanowski & Education
Some people don’t want to go into the education field
because they don’t want to deal with the kids. Some do want to because they are
a people person. To be a teacher, I feel as if you need to be a people person.
There is a need to try and really connect with your students and have a good
relationship with them to have things go well. In can be a win/win situation.
It all goes back to earning respect to get respect too. Students like when it isn’t
all about a dictatorship. When students get a say, and can connect with what
teachers think, everything works out better. It is also a lot about getting a
feel of what the students like. Because teachers will be more happy if they can
have happy students. I feel as if people say an ideal teacher is one that
dictates. When people think of teachers, sometimes, depending on the teacher,
they aren’t the best thoughts. However, an well-rounded ideal teacher I think is
one that connects with students the best, makes them happy, and tries to get
all the work done needed in the class also. I want to go into the education
field and I feel as if I will do a pretty good job because I have been there
and done that as a student. I would like to say thank you to Ms. Chrzanowski
for being there with us for some time. It was fun and it was cool to see
someone I actually knew come back and student teach at Alden. I hope everything
goes well with the education field that she is going in to. And, she really did
a nice job getting to know us and have fun with us too. Lastly, Austin and I
will always be star-crossed lovers! J
P2. Goals
When I set goals, I try my hardest to achieve them in the
best way I can. And, so far this year I have done a very good job at achieving
the goals. Like I wanted to be, I was very consistent with keeping high grades.
Right now we are in the fourth quarter, and I plan to keep my grades high
still. This is my pathway to fulfilling my college dreams, and I am on a pretty
good streak to getting to that point I feel. I am also working very hard in my
sports. So far, I have been a scholar athlete for volleyball and
basketball. And for softball, I am in
the middle of working on it. Also, I am working on getting an academic award at
the end of the year. Keeping my grades will help me get into the college I
want. I still want to go to go to Canisius for child education. I help me get
to this point; I have a CEIP class put on my schedule. It is an internship
class. I will be sent to another school to be and intern and get the real
experience. It is a good thing to do to get me prepared for the occupation I
want to do. And, with college softball, I will start to watch the college level
when it comes on TV. With my hair and wanting it to be so long like theirs is, I
am not too successful. It is a pretty good length, but my hair is too thin to
ever be that long. I will get there soon enough hopefully. My junior year has
brought a lot of challenges, however I am working my hardest to make the best
out of it. This is my future and I am ready to succeed.

P1. TV
Watching television is not one of my favorite things to do.
I would rather get up, and go do something else. I don’t really watch a lot of
TV. The only main time that I really watch TV is at night, before I go to bed.
I just lie on the couch and relax before bedtime. I especially like it when
there are good movies on to watch. I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks and Harry
Potter weekends. They are the best! Shows that I like to watch NCIS, CSI:
Miami, Criminal Minds, Reba, SpongeBob, and Pretty Little Liars. In my house,
there are 6 televisions in my house. Two of them are the ones to play a VHS.
Those are still my favorite because I love old fashioned. VHS are my favorite.
Have VHS and DVD shows how much things in life have changed. There are many positives and negatives
associated with watching TV. TV is definitely something to do when there is
nothing else to do, which is positive. Instead of just listening to something, it’s
a visual. The weather channel is a good example of this. People listen to the
radio for finding out how the weather will be. However, on TV, people can
actually see the weather patterns, what places it hits, and what will be the
weather for the days to come. TV can also be educational, which is another positive.
The negative side to TV is that with the shows kids are interested in these days,
they drain their brains in a way. It does no good for anyone, and then this
ends up being all that they want to do. It decreases the positive thoughts of wanting
to go and actually do physical activity. It is sad to say that this is pretty
true. This makes me not like TV that much.

O5. Writing Process
My writing process for this class is pretty simple. Every two weeks or so, we
have to write an article. The one topic that I have always done is something
having to do with sports. I pick the JV sport that was in season at the time.
And, for sports, we are only allowed to pick a sports team that we are not on.
So, I had to pick JV teams. I did volleyball, basketball, and currently doing
softball. I am on the Varsity team of all these sports, so it is an easy access
to information from the JV. Every time I have an article to write, I go to the coaches
and collect information. Sometimes I do an article all about the coach.
However, most of the time, it is all about stats and current games. I both
interview the coach and take notes from the questions I have him/her answer.
Or, I have the coach email me the stats. At times, I go to the team captains
and get insight on how the season is going. I usually add quotes from them in
my article. It gives reader a better understanding of the team, along with
other information. For the organization of my article, I keep things separate.
Certain information goes in certain paragraphs. For the most part, my articles
are pretty well written. I try to make sure my writing is not too choppy and use
correct grammar. With writing, one thing I struggle with is vocabulary. I try
my best to compare words of the same meaning, and choose which one would sound better
within the article. Then, once all the hard work is done, I turn the article into
my editor for any adjustments. If there are some, I correct them, and then
submit the article to get approved. It ends up going into The Bulldog
Newspaper, and it rocks!
