High School years are one of the best times of your life.
Some people make the most of it, and some people take it for granted. And, for
me, I am definitely making the most of it. I am having a lot of fun and
honestly, I don’t want to leave. I know I have one more year left, however I
have begun to start thinking how everything will be different once I graduate.
However, I will adapt, and it will only be the beginning to another adventurous
chapter in my life. One thing that really gets me is who I will and won’t stay
in touch with after high school. I want to make sure that the people who I am
close with now, I will stick with for the rest of my life. It is said that when
people leave high school, they can count on one hand the number of true friends
they have when they leave high school. This is the time of your life when you
find out who your true friends are. The true friends are there for you through
it all. They stick with you through the ups and downs, and through thick and
thin, no matter what. They aren’t two-faced and don’t go behind your back. At
this point in my life, I found out what friends and the true ones, and those
that are fake. With the fake ones, I shake off the drama, and I go on with my
life, being thankful for the good friends I have. It is more fun this was. No
worries about the stupid things, and only focusing on the little things that
mean the most. People will ever know what life will throw at them. I guess it
is just all about being ready for anything and going through the motions with full
potential.

N4. Google Glass
I knew that sooner or later people were going to come up
with a huge technology change like this. The Google Glass is a big step up in
society. Honestly, I want to know why things can’t be simple anymore. I think
it’s a cool idea; however I’m not a fan of the high technology level of it. It
is confusing and disturbing in a way, how something can work like this. One of
the major downfalls about the Google Glass is that it disrupts a lot of
privacy. I just don’t understand why people need to make something like this.
This makes me wonder how the future life of my generation will be like. Also,
it makes me think of what the technology of the generations way below me will
be like. They will hardly know what a piece of paper and a pen is. However,
technology like this makes people realize that nothing will ever be simple
again. It is truly a terrible thing to think about. I can’t wait to see what
happens to society when the Google Glass officially comes out. Everyone is
literally going to go crazy for them I think. And, then, at that time, you will
see the major drop in independence and simplicity. Everyone will just rely on the
Google Glass to do everything for them. Literally, say the “magic word” and the
Google Glass does it for you. That is interesting; however messed up that
something can actually work like that for everything. I think I would try one
of these out, but I don’t think I would want one for myself. I will definitely
be one the people who want to be old school, and use a camera, phone, and a
computer. Also, the Google Glass isn’t the most attractive thing. I wouldn’t
want to wear them out in public. Well, I can’t wait to see what actually
happens to society when the Google Glass comes out for the first time.
N3. Working
I actually currently do not work anywhere officially. The
only thing I do is I am a referee for the rec league basketball for the little
kids at Alden. Also, during the summer, I am an umpire for the softball house
league at Creek Road in Elma. It is a nice and simple way to earn a little
cash. I really don’t want a real job right at this point in my life. I mean I
always think it would be nice to keep getting my own money. However, I always
say that I want to just live the high school life. I don’t want to have to
worry about work, and I want to focus on having the time of my life. Obviously
sooner or later in high school I’ll get a job even though I don’t want one.
But, I will know when that right time is. I have thought about my career way in
the future however, and I know what I want to do. I want to be a teacher for
little kids. Ever since I was little I wanted to be a teacher. So, my plan and
dream in life is to go to Canisius College for child education. I love to work
with little kids, and I hope my dream for this future career comes true. I
always have this thought in my head that I might want to go back to my old
elementary school and teach. I went to St. John the Baptist from kindergarten
until eighth grade. I think that would be pretty cool if I could go back and
give back to the school that made me the person I am today. I will try my
hardest and do whatever it takes to fulfill my career expectations. And, I
won’t let anything get in my way.
N2. Spring!
Spring is finally here! This is probably one of my favorite
times of the year. The cold starts to go away, flowers start to bloom, and it
is leading up to summer vacation. I love when you can smell spring in the air.
It is one of the best feelings, and it gets people excited for the warm
weather. It is also the time that everyone starts to think a lot about prom!
This year’s spring is especially exciting because it is my first prom. I have
my dress sort of picked out, and I’m excited to especially get my shoes! Also,
another important event of my 2013 spring is that I am going to the Taylor
Swift concert! Words can’t explain how thrilled I am to go! I literally will
probably cry when she goes on the stage. Another reason why I love spring is
that it is Eastertime. I love to do the traditional coloring of the eggs. I don’t care how old I am. I will always
color eggs. Also, I go to mass of Easter Sunday. It is one of my favorite
Masses to go to because the church is extra joyful and it smells like gorgeous
flowers. It looks so pretty in the church. One thing I hate about the beginning
of spring is when it is still cold out. It is like this today outside. I really
hate it. All I want is warm weather and to go to the beach. I hate that you
still have to wear sort of warm clothes. I just want to wear shorts and flip
flops. I’m ready for the warmest weather to come! Going outside and playing
softball starts, which is the best thing of all. I’m ready to roll the windows
down and just cruise. I need spring and warm weather now!
N1. The Flawless Carrie Underwood
This article starts of explaining how Carrie Underwood first
started off. She got noticed by auditioning on American Idol. It took so many
steps for her to get where she is with singing and performing today. And, this
showed as Carrie Underwood concert at the First Niagara Center on Tuesday. This
was top-notch performing, as she blew the crowd away with her amazing voice. However,
Carrie never seemed really comfortable as she performed.
Also, through it seemed hard for her to fully connect with her audience. The “Blown Away” tour has been going on for a
while, and Carrie has played for some 500,000 people. However, it is said that
the show came off as scripted and not natural. The shower overall was still
flawless. Carrie’s opening song was ‘Good Girl”. She hit all her notes with the
perfect pitch. Other songs that she performed were “Cowboy Casanova”, “Wasted”,
“Undo It”, “I Told You So”, and many more. Carrie did her best and gave it her
all to make it the best concert, and so everyone could fully enjoy the show. Many
of the times the crowd sang along with Carrie to the songs that they adore.
Carrie wore interesting outfits that were said to be tacky and could flatter no
one. The stage was appealing, along with all the photos, films, and lights that
were included in the show. I think that no matter what Carrie Underwood wears
or looks like, her voice and ability to hit all her notes is incredible. Everyone
gets too picky at things and looks too much into them. I went to the show
myself, and I thought it was outstanding. She wore dresses that only she could
pull off, and she sounded amazing. It was definitely a successful concert, and I
don’t care what social media says about it.
