B4. Sisters for Life!

People with never understand the lives of my two sisters, Lindsey and Anne, and I. From the time that I was born and Lindsey becoming an older sister, to Anne being born and I becoming an older sister also, there couldn’t be three sisters that are closer. We are there to support each other in everything and have each other’s’ backs. All three of us are alike in certain ways. People never see it, but we do. My sisters and I all play the same sports. We have practiced and played volleyball, basketball, and softball since we could walk. We are definitely die-heart sports fans and have grown up with it in our family. My family, including my extended family, is very competitive. Sports are a huge part of our lives and we wouldn’t give them up for anything. Another way that my sisters and I are alike is that we are just crazy and weird, in a funny way. No one understands the funny things we come up with and the strange things we do. When people ask about us, it is so hard to explain because it is truly unexplainable. It is the unthinkable personalities of three sisters that are like no other. We always wonder if there are families and siblings out there as strange and thrilling as us. However, we came to the conclusion that there are no others out like us. We have the greatest times together. For example, when we go on vacation, the vacation part isn’t even the best part. It’s the car ride! On the road, everything just gets better and better as we move along. I don’t think there is a stop to the laughter! When we are told to be quiet, it just makes the situation more hilarious. And, my poor father, having to deal with four girls in the car, including us three, who never run out of energy. But, he knows he loves it and will miss it someday at the same time. Lindsey, Anne, and I will always be close. As we grow older, we will never split apart. Even though we will be off in lives with our families, our own houses, and people to care for, the relationship between us three will never be lost. Sisters for life is not just a saying, it’s a promise! Sisters by blood, best friends by heart.

B3. Marisa Lee Gosdeck

One of the greatest moments in my life was when I met my best friend! Freshman year was a big step up in my life. I was attending a new school, meeting new people, and a whole new atmosphere. The good point in all of this is I had my sister there. She was a senior and I knew most of her friends, so it made it easier to adjust to everything. I remember freshman year like it was yesterday. Also, I remember this moment especially. I had global, block 2, with Mrs. Kornacki. She set the desk in rows and I had this one girl was in my row. She sat two seats over from me. She was tall and looked like my sister’s friend, Olivia. This certain girl’s name was Marisa. I never talked to her until a few days later. It was after school when Olivia and Lindsey were figuring out homecoming plans. I was walking up and I also saw Marisa standing there. Lindsey and Olivia introduced us to each other and said we were going to become best friends. Marisa and I just stood there and giggled in confusion. As they were making plans, they also made plans for Marisa and I. They both were going to take us out to lunch at Zhang’s Buffet and then go shopping for dresses. And we did! The four of us went to the mall and had the time of our lives! Marisa and I chatted a lot as the evening went on and got to know each other. The next few days in school we began to talk more and more about our lives. As homecoming started to creep up, we both figured out ideas for what we were going to do for homecoming, and we ended up getting ready together and going with a group to the dance. From that day on Marisa and I have been the best of friends! She knows my life, I know hers, and we are there for each other. I wouldn’t want it any other way than to have that girl as my other half!

B2. The Sites of the Season

The best season of the year in my opinion is fall. I absolutely love the feeling of the changes of going from summer to fall. I take in the warm weather during the summer, but towards the end, I start to get sick of it. I start to think more about fall and all that comes along with it. I imagine the warm breeze and smell of the air. The different colored leaves, falling from the trees are one of my favorite parts. And, once there are many leaves all over the ground, I act like I’m five again, and frolic in them. At the end of October, Halloween comes along! With Halloween, there is carving pumpkins into anything you want, dressing up in a costume like a fool, and walking around to collect free candy. How much better can life get? Then, starting in November, the thoughts of Thanksgiving come into mind. The best parts are all the fun activities on Thanksgiving Day! In the morning, it starts off with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is always a classic. Then, in the afternoon, the football game is on. And, while all this is happening, the spell of turkey spreads throughout the whole house. It can’t get any better than this! In the evening, the big feast takes place and everyone eats until they can’t eat anymore. Also, to add more to the fall season, it is the time of the year when you go from wearing shorts and flip-flops, to boots, sweatpants, and hoodies. The sense of being this comfy and warm gets me excited for fall to jump into gear. Fall is the perfect weather to sit inside, all comfortable on the couch, drink hot apple cider, and cuddle all night. And when fall is coming to an end, December comes along and it is then almost time for my birthday! It is just a fantastic time of year! The sites of the season of fall never cease to amaze me.

B1. Facebooking!

Facebook is a network that is widespread all over the world. And yes, I do use Facebook as well. It keeps me updated with the social life and what is going on with people I know. I like to read about all the stuff going on so I stay updated on today’s life, and not yesterday’s old news. There are many positives and negatives to Facebook. Some positives are keeping people updated of course, but also staying in contact with people. If, people move away or go to a different school or college, Facebook makes it easier to keep in touch with those people. Also, on Facebook there are events that you can be a part of and create. This keeps you involved with the outside world events. Some negatives of Facebook are not knowing the users or the friends you have on it. People may say they are a certain way and turn out to be the total opposite. Many times, this is a dangerous situation. People need to be more cautious of what they post, who they talk to, and who their friends are. Also, another problem is bullying. Lives get ruined just because of Facebook. One little video, post, or message can make people thinking differently of themselves in a bad way. It’s terrible to make people feel that awful about themselves. Another negative in my opinion is the parents sometimes have a Facebook. I believe that Facebook is made for teens. It is a networking for teens and I don’t know why parents would want to get involved with that. I also think that younger kids, from 12 years and younger shouldn’t have a Facebook. First of all Facebook is sometimes not appropriate for their little eyes. They don’t need to be on Facebook at that age. Facebook is not a need in life, but it is something nice to have.

A4. Writng Interests

I wouldn’t say that writing is one of my strongest subjects. I’m not the type of person who writing comes naturally to. However, I am willing to try my hardest and do my best with my writing, to try and reach the goal of the task. But, also when there is something that I have to write about that I enjoy talking about, there could be a slight change in my writing. I even see a little more pop or spark to my writing. Some subjects I like to write about are one, sports. Sports are my life. And when I’m told to write about them, they most likely will be better than other articles because I have more knowledge about that genre. I like writing about sports teams that I am close with and participate in because then I know the coaches. And when I know the coaches, it is easier to get more information for an article, which makes it more interesting for the audience to read. Other subjects I enjoy writing about are some personal adventures because the stories get so exciting. There is always a lot of humor in my adventures that people will enjoy thoroughly. These are the best writing pieces because I was actually there experiencing what I am writing about. And if people don’t like the adventure stories, then I guess it is one of those “had to be there moments”. I also like to write about different clubs. For example, the Donate Life Club is one that I participate in and like giving information out about it. I take pleasure in seeing what different clubs are all about and giving feedback to the people so they get interested as well. I will not limit my writing; I will explore the options I have to make it the best.

A3. Years of Schooling

If I think about it, I have been through so much schooling in my life already. I went to St. John the Baptist until I was in eighth grade. St. John’s has made me the person I am today. During my years there, my favorite year was probably fourth grade. That was when I had my favorite teacher as homeroom and she loved our class. She would always favor us over other classes! She acted almost as like she was a sister to us. Also, during that year was when true friendship came in to play. Another important thing about that year was the NYS testing. There were so many to take but it helped to get myself prepared for when I got where I am now, how I take longer tests, like regents, every year. I was already striving to achieve goals in life at such a young age and didn’t even know it. Fourth grade was a fun step in my life that I will never forget. I do however, have another favorite school year, and that was freshmen year in high school. I loved freshmen year! I always here people complaining about it and I think the total opposite if it! It was so exciting going to a whole new school, meeting new people, making new close friendships, and getting involved with the high school life. It was also nice because I had my sister there as a senior to guide me along. That was a stress reliever because I was terrified of getting lost! And then freshmen year was the year I fell in love with homecoming week! It is my favorite time of the year, and it still is. Freshmen year also got me to where I am today and I can’t wait to finish off my last years strong.

A2. Junior Year

This school year I want to start off with a fresh beginning. Junior year is said to be one of the most important and toughest years. This is because there are scholarships to shoot for, colleges to be accepted to, and a whole new chapter of your life unfolding. So, this year I am putting it all out there. I am going to keep up with my high grades in my classes. Also, with the subjects that aren’t my strongest, I will strive to keep a positive attitude and do everything to improve the struggles I have with the work. I am going to push myself so I can receive another academic award this year and be a scholar athlete for all the sports teams that I am a part of. I especially want to work hard because I want to go to college to become an elementary school teacher. I would like to teach first or second grade because I work sufficiently with younger kids. That has been my dream ever since I was little. Also, I will continue this year to succeed at sports. Another dream of mine is to go to a college and play softball. That has been a main goal set for myself throughout my life. I always watch the college level play of softball on TV and I dream of myself being in their position. And I specifically watch some things that they do to make me a better player myself. I also love how they wear bows in their hair! It’s so classy! So, during the year I am going to continue to make sure I balance my sports, education, and also social life to maintain good stability for myself. Junior year basically sets the rhythm for my future, and I am ready to take on the challenges it brings.

A1. Summer 2012

This summer was very busy! Travel softball was my summer this year. For softball, I traveled out of town for tournaments, which was the most vacation I had this summer. And, as I was in one place with my dad, my mom was with my little sister at her out of town tournaments. We received second place in the Penfield Tournament. And I also got an interesting “softball” tan from it. Every game was a blast because I was so close with the girls on my team and never have laughed so hard with a group of girls. Another major part of my summer was hanging out with friends. I have made so many more close friendships with people that I never thought would've happened. I went camping with a group of people and we had a fire, camped out it tents, and went four wheeling. Since we were in the middle of the woods, we heard coyotes during the night! That was pretty cool because I have never heard one before, but still terrifying at the same time! It was also nice having my sister home from college the whole summer. She has been home since April, we made so many more memories, and just recently we had to take her back. That put a downer to the end of my summer. However, a few weeks later after that, my cousin, Bobby, got married. It was amazing to see how much my cousin has grown up and getting married. I danced my little heart out at the reception! Also, towards the end of the summer, Raeanne Nicole Over came to my house and we chilled poolside for the whole day. We had a picnic out on my lawn while we sipped our iced-tea in a very classy matter. Summer 2012 was definitely one to remember, and I’m looking forward to another one next year!
